Marcia Colligan

President & CEO

Marcia Colligan is the President and cofounder of Classicopia. In 2001, after completing a twenty-year career in administration at Dartmouth College, Ms. Colligan’s passion for music and community led to the creation of Classicopia.

Marcia Colligan graduated with a business degree from SUNY where she also received the 1992 Distinguished Alumnae Award. In addition to raising her six children, she earned an MA from Dartmouth and an MBA from the University of New Hampshire.

Along with her academic and professional accomplishments, she has contributed to her community while serving on the Town finance committee and volunteering her time in the school and the parish council at her church.

Ms. Colligan has had the further distinction of being the first woman welcomed into the Hanover Rotary Club where she has been an active member since 1988. She resides in Hanover where she regularly hosts classical salons.

 

Daniel Weiser, pianist, is currently on the music faculty of Dartmouth College and St. Paul’s School. He is the cofounder of Classicopia as well as the Upper Valley Duo, a violin and piano team that served as the 1996 U.S. Artistic Ambassadors Abroad on a two-month, eleven-country tour of the Middle East and Asia.

Dr. Weiser was also a founding member of the Adirondack Ensemble, which won a Chamber Music America award for inventive programming and outreach. He has participated in the New Hampshire Music Festival, Musicorda, and the Apple Hill Chamber Music Festival. He has been the Music Director of the Da Corneta Opera Ensemble, the Opera North Young Artist program, and Opera New England.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Columbia University with a degree in American History, he also spent a year at Harvard Law School. Dr.Weiser has a Doctorate in Piano from the Peabody Conservatory, where he studied with Samuel Sanders and Robert MacDonald and won the Richard Franko Goldman prize for outstanding contribution to musical and education life. He now lives in Quechee, Vermont with his wife, Dr. Kisha Weiser.
